Nature’s Select Thistle (Nyjer)
This “Gold Finch Magnet” is a tiny black seed that is imported to North America. This seed is heat sterilized to prevent unwanted germination under your feeder. Due its tiny size, Nyjer must be offered in special tube feeders with small seed portals to prevent spillage.
Attracts: Goldfinches, Siskins, Redpolls and other small songbirds
Nature’s Select Peanuts
The peanuts are a high-protein, oil-rich source for birds. Peanuts are generally used in birdseed mixes but may be offered by themselves. Squirrels also love peanuts, so if you are not fond of these furry friends, feed in a location they cannot access.
Attracts: Woodpeckers, Chickadees, Nuthatches and Titmice
Nature’s Select Safflower
This is a white oval seed that is about half the size of Black Oil Sunflower. Safflower is rich in oil content to provide ample energy for your feathered friends. Generally, the biggest advantage of safflower is that it is generally not eaten by less desired bird species such as Grackles or by squirrels.
Attracts: Cardinals, Chickadees, Nuthatches, and more
Nature’s Select Sunflower
Hands-down, this is the favorite choice of most seed eating birds. Due to its high oil content, birds will receive the boost of energy they need. The thin shell is easy for birds to open, making it appealing to more than 40 bird species.
Attracts: Cardinals, Chickadees, Titmice, Nuthatches, Grosbeaks and more
